Ok, it's April 3rd and there is still snow on the ground here in NH, but it's officially been Spring since March 20th.
Here at Atlantic Insurance & Benefit Company we love all cars, new, used and classic.
We know that our clients love their cars too and a fun part of our job is working with our clients to make sure that their cars get the best auto insurance for their vintage or classic car. One of the insurers we work with is Hagerty.
At Hagerty, they’re as passionate about classics as their clients are. Their deep knowledge of classic vehicles and their owners allows them to offer better coverage for less. They offer:
Give us a call to make sure your classic car or boat is properly insured, contact us at 603-882-2909 to learn more about a Hagerty Classic Car Insurance policy. (By the way my favorite car of all time was my 1972 BMW 2002, I had it in college- it was a fun car!)
Do you have to have car insurance in NH? No.
NH likes to be different- and it is. NH is the ONLY state that does NOT require you to buy car insurance.
While it is not mandated it's a good idea to buy NH Auto Insurance and .... it's cheap!
We are 47! (Meaning that 46 other states have higher auto insurance rates than NH!) The average auto insurance premium in NH is 941 annually - but many of our clients pay less! You can see how NH Stacks up against other states in this interactive map here.

If you are looking to buy NH Dental Insurance in the non-group or individual market the healthcare.gov exchange is NOT the place where you will get the best value.
Here in NH there are several insurers that market to individuals. According the NH Insurance Department there are 12 insurers that sell dental insurance to individuals and families in NH. See full list of NH Dental insurers and their contact info here.
3 Reasons that I suggest buying NH dental insurance off the exchange:
1. More Choices - In NH, on the exchange there are only 5 dental plan designs listed in Hillsborough County. Off exchange Delta offers individuals 6 different dental plans and Ameritas offers 9 dental plan designs.
2. In NH Annual Dental Insurance Maximums are Lower on the Exchange. For adults on the exchange the highest annual maximums are $1000 per person, however Off exchange insurers offers plans that have $2000 annual maximums.
3. More Insurers- On exchange there are only 2 dental insurers that market- off the exchange there are 12 different companies that sell individual NH dental insurance.
Overview of NH Dental Insurance
When it comes to dental insurance coverage there are three common classifications that insurers use:
Most insurers will include Oral Exams, Cleanings, Cancer Screenings and x-rays. Fluoride treatments and sealants for children are often covered in this category.
For most insurers, this category covers fillings, extractions, and emergency or palliative care.
Expect to find more costly items covered under the MAJOR category. These services will include gum disease treatment (perio), root canal therapy (endo), crowns, dentures and denture repair.
Two popular dental insurers in NH are Northeast Delta Dental and Ameritas. They offer dental plans to individuals, employer groups and even the Medicare population. To get quotes for individual NH dental insurance plans click on links below:

Here is a great article on why the term life insurance offered by your employer is just not enough.
Written by Ashely Eneriz of WiseBread (a website that helps people Live Large on a Small Budget) the article states that group term life, especially the employer paid portion is an excellent deal for most employees.
She says that many people underestimate the amount of life insurance that they need and do not consider the following:
She encourages people to buy term life while young and eligible for preferred rates. In NH and MA Term Life Insurance is portable, affordable and easy to apply for (see my article on how easy here!).
It's a great article please take a moment to review her suggestions.

This week we helped a few clients who recently moved to NH with car insurance. It made me appreciate how affordable New Hampshire Auto Insurance really is.
A recent article shows that NH is the 4th most affordable state for car insurance. As an independent agent we research different carriers and recommend the best fit for each client and their unique situation. Here is a quick summary of 2 new clients who bought insurance from our agency.
Client #1- Progressive $300 Savings
Gentleman, age 51, was relocating from Florida to NH and needed to change his auto insurance. (This time of year you would expect someone to move in the opposite direction!) He bought an auto insurance policy through us from Progressive and saved over $300.
Client #2- SafeCo Auto Insurance Savings of over $500
Lovely couple relocated from Baltimore area and bought an apartment renter's policy and auto insurance on 2 vehicles. On the cars they saved over $500 compared to what they were paying in Maryland- and got better coverage (No deductible on Glass and Higher Liability Limits).
Whether you are new to NH or have lived here all your life - please give us a call for an auto insurance quote. If you haven't shopped in the past 24 months I think you will be pleasantly surprised..!
